Doatnuts (aka Oat Donuts)

My daughter had never had a regular donut in her own 6 year old life (well until some parent brought that garbage into her Kindergarten class and gave it to her without my permission... boy was I FURIOUS! How dare someone else decide my child can have poison! I see commercials donuts as inflammatory hydrogenated oils and artificial dye not to mention the cheap gluten laden ingredients and massive sugar influx. Here is our quick, homemade mini donut recipe that satisfies the fun donut shape, is a bit "cakey" and way more healthy.


  • 1 cup raw oats

  • 1/2 cup blanched almond flour

  • 2 whole eggs

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 cup almond milk (may need a little more liquid after blending)

  • 2 tbsp Sukrin brown sugar alternative ( I get it on Amazon)

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • optional: mini chocolate chips

In a blender, add all ingredients (except chocolate chips). Put liquids in first so the blender doesn't clog up with dry goods. Blend until smooth. If too thick, add a little water or more almond milk. Stir in chocolate chips or other add ons like blueberries or banana chunks. Let rest for a few moments. Preheat mini donut maker and spray with non stick or butter. Cook according to donut maker instructions. Enjoy with homemade keto whipped cream!

Keto Whipped Cream:

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream, organic when possible

  • 2-3 Tbsp Swerve confectioners sugar substitute (I get in on Amazon and at Publix)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

In a stand mixer with whisk attachment whip all ingredients on medium high until fluffy. It is just that easy! Take about 4-5 minutes.
