Apple Almond Oatmeal

We are once again beefing up a classic to make it better serve our nutritional needs. Oatmeal got a makeover with a few simple ingredients we made it sweet, crunchy, nutty warm with a sprinkle of cool, crisp apple! 

Kids Portion:

1/4 cup old fashioned organic gluten free oats

1 tbsp coconut manna

1/3-1/2 cup cashew milk (depending on if they prefer their oatmeal kind of dry or more soupy. Can use other non-dairy milk replacements like cocont, almond or hazelnut milk)

5 raw almonds, chopped into bits

1/2 tsp chia seeds (chia soaks up moisture so if you let it sit for a bit you may need to add more liquid to your oats)

optional: cinnamon, honey, hemp seeds

DIRECTIONS:

Cook oats and milk together either in microwave or on a stove top. Stir in chia, coconut manna (that has a natural sweetness), diced apple and chopped almonds. Optional to sprinkle with cinnamon, hemp seeds and/or honey. Can also add in 1/4 scoop of vanilla protein powder for more protein.
