Mango Walnut Smoothie

It is over 90 degrees now every day here in Florida, so something refreshing and nourishing is definitely needed! I don't like typical fruit smoothies that boast loads of fructose and little, if any protein or other value, so this morning we got creative, yet kept it super simple when Makayla asked for a "surprise fruit smoothie" (This is where she leaves the room and leaves the flavor up to me). Mangos are high in sugar so when I used them it is just a little bit, but they also have a high antioxidant content (quercetin, isoquercitrin, astragalin, fisetin, gallic acid and methylgallat known to fight certain types of cancers), abundant in enzymes to aid digestion, vitamin A and C and fiber. Here is a simple protein smoothie to rehydrate and refresh a growing little body. 

 

MANGO WALNUT PROTEIN SMOOTHIE

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1/2 cup Milked Walnuts (found it at Publix)

1 scoop Olly Probiotic Smoothie, Strawberry (click product name to order online. Also have seen it at Target )

4 chunks frozen mango

 

Blend all ingredients. Add to a fun cup and away you go!
